Outstanding Environmental Health and Safety Student Award


Eligibility: Any 3rd, 4th, or 5th year current undergraduate or graduate student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher majoring in environmental, health and safety, sustainability, or related field at a college or university in New York State. This is a one-year award – in order to qualify for a second year, students must reapply and submit their application before the deadline of April 1st of each year.
 

These awards are intended to recognize and encourage outstanding students who are pursuing a career in an environmental field. Awards will be made on the basis of academic record, leadership in academics, leadership in the community or the profession, and future academic and career potential without consideration of sex, race, national origin, financial need, age, or physical disability.

 

Awards: Two $500 awards will be given each year.

 

Application: Applications must be received by Sam Sanguedolce, Nassau Community College, Environmental Health & Safety, One Education Drive, 353 Harmon Avenue; 2nd Floor, Garden City, NY 11530, or e-mailed toSamuel.Sanguedolce@ncc.eduby the application deadline. Applications must be postmarked or submitted via email no later than April 1st of each year. Please include one letter of recommendation from a professor or an environmental health and safety professional and an unofficial transcript from the college or university. Winners of the award will be notified by the end of April 30th each year.
