Get your Human Resources department involved. While the laboratory may not be the ideal setting for service animals, it was mentioned that the animal should have the same privileges as a walking cane and must be permitted in the laboratory. Good luck!

Hello everyone,
I would like to hear the policies established at your institution regarding service animals (dogs) in chemistry labs. We have a student who needs a dog companion in the lab but unfortunately in the lab we cannot guarantee a safe space for the dog. We are supposed to be compliant with ADA and are at a loss as to what we should be doing.
Any advice will be helpful!
